Remember, the horse is a grass-eating steppe animal that naturally grazes 16–20 hours a day.

We shouldn’t underestimate the importance of chewing time

Evolution moves very slowly. In addition to eating being a socially significant activity, it’s a physiological fact that horses need to eat often and in small amounts to avoid ulcers and ensure optimal digestion. Prolonged chewing time can calm horses that exhibit stress behaviors such as cribbing, weaving, or gnawing on stable fixtures or fence posts. A HayBot helps increase chewing time by adding the possibility of three additional daily feedings (HayBot Pro).
